A gold-plated replica necklace of the Olympic Games medallion struck in AD 242.
The matte gold medallion shows the helmeted head of Athena on the obverse, and Alexander the Great on his legendary horse Bucephalus in a lion hunt on the reverse.
Its simple, timeless design makes it easy to wear with modern styles.
The original piece, preserved in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, is a particularly fine example of a gold medallion. It was not from the original ancient Olympic Games at Olympia, but from a regional Olympic festival held in Macedonia in AD 242 to honour Alexander the Great.

金メッキを施した、紀元242年のオリンピック記念メダルのレプリカネックレス。
マットゴールドのメダルには、表に女神アテナの頭部、裏に伝説の愛馬ブケパロスに乗りライオン狩りをするアレクサンドロス大王が描かれています。
シンプルなデザインで、現代のスタイルにも取り入れやすい一点。
このレプリカの元になったのは、ケンブリッジ大学フィッツウィリアム美術館に所蔵される特に美しい金メダル。これは「古代オリンピック」そのものではなく、マケドニアでアレクサンドロス大王を讃えて開催された地方版オリンピック競技会（紀元242年）の記念メダルです。
