VINTAGE 1950s REUGE Ballerina Music Jewellery Box (Working)

When opened, this jewellery box reveals an exotic dancer figure that spins gracefully to music.

Rather than a strictly classical ballerina, the figure evokes a more exotic, cabaret-inspired presence.
She features a black bob hairstyle, a boldly exposed upper body, and a vivid red skirt decorated with scattered gold stars.

The interior is lined with deep crimson velvet and includes a small compartment for jewellery.
Inside the lid, white satin fabric is paired with a small gold-tone metal plate that reflects the dancing figure.

The exterior is simple in design, covered in a deep red faux leather with warm, brown undertones.

Made by Reuge, the renowned Swiss music box manufacturer.
The music plays a phrase reminiscent of “I Could Have Danced All Night” from the musical My Fair Lady.(can be heard in the accompanying video.)

  The exterior faux leather shows age-related wear, including scuffing, colour variation, and areas where the surface colour has faded slightly.
  The metal parts show signs of age-related tarnishing.
  Inside, the velvet lining shows an impression from where the dancer was set.
  The satin lining has light age-related staining.

蓋を開けると、エキゾチックなダンサーがくるくると回る、オルゴール付きのジュエリーボックス。

中のフィギュアは、いわゆるクラシックなバレリーナというよりも、どこかキャバレーやレビューを思わせるエキゾチックな雰囲気。
黒いボブヘアに、露出のある上半身、そしてゴールドのスターが散りばめられた真っ赤なスカートを身にまとっています。

内側には深紅のベルベットが敷き詰められ、小さなジュエリーを収納できる仕切り付き。
蓋の内側には白いサテン生地が張られ、ダンサーの姿を映す小さなゴールドカラーのメタルプレートがあしらわれています。

外側はシンプルなデザインで、えんじ色に近い赤みのある合皮で覆われています。

スイスの老舗オルゴールブランド、Reuge（リュージュ）によるもの。
音楽はミュージカル『マイ・フェア・レディ』のナンバー「踊り明かそう（I Could Have Danced All Night）」を思わせるフレーズが流れます。(ビデオでチェックできます）

• オルゴールの音程は、経年の影響によりわずかにずれているように感じられます。（ビデオ参照）外側の合皮部分には、経年による擦れや色ムラ、表面の色がやや薄くなっている箇所が見られます。メタルには経年による変色が見られます。内部のベルベットには、人形の設置による跡が残っています。サテンには経年による薄いシミがあります。他は全体としては年代を考慮すると良好なコンディションです。
